Joint 863 Research Project of Automotive Electronics Sensing

Lionax, along with the Institute of Microelectronics , Tsinghua University, have received grant from China’s 863 High-tech Research and Development Program, to conduct research in he field of automobile electronics sensing technology.

The Company is developing modular systems to allow its products to work with other electronic monitoring devices in the car such as security and navigation. The company has already developed the technology and is currently cooperate with partner NP_EMAP Navigation Co., Ltd, in the GPS and back-up camera system and PDA markets that will integrate TPMS in its existing platforms.

The Company is developing its own DPS sensors, which is critical to OEM success because this makes automotive manufacturing customization easier. Sensors that the company has developed for four-wheel drives support a maximum pressure of 150psi while those for trucks withstand up to 200psi. The Company is positioning itself not only an aftermarket supplier but also as an OEM supplier because we have our own sensor production technology, and PCB design and firmware development capability.

The Company was one of the first in China to introduce Do-It-Yourself (DIY) TPMS in 2005. The product uses external sensors that are only 2cm in diameter and 16g in weight, unlike other models with large, heavy sensors that can affect the balancing of the tires. The Company offers the same systems with internal sensors. In fact, all of its car, truck and trailer, and combination security and TPMS models can be configured with internal or external sensors.

The Advisory Board

The Company has formed an Automobile Industry Advisory Board to attract external experts and specialists to provide suggestions on the Company’s product development and marketing directions.

Professor Liu Litian is presently a professor at the Institute of Microelectrnonics of Tsinghua University, the leading university in China. His research focus includes novel semiconductor device, device physics and device models, and MEMS. He holds more than 25 patents in these areas including 5 US patents. He is actively involved in many major national research projects, national association of the industries, and national professional journals of the industries.

Professor Zhang Daisheng is presently a professor and head of the School of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering at the Hefei University of Technology, one of three leading automobile research and education programs in Chinese Universities (the other two being Tsinghua University with whom the Company is jointly setting up China’s first Automotive Sensing and Electronics Research Institute, and Jilin University whose focus is auto body design). Professor Zhang is also a director and deputy general secretary of the Anhui Association of Automobile Engineering.
